Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking a Data Scientist at senior staff to senior levels to accelerate its AI-driven mineral exploration program. You will build predictive models, integrate geoscience data, and develop software to identify ore-forming signatures in 2D/3D, working with a world-class team of data scientists and geoscientists.

This remote-first, full-time exempt role requires travel to project sites, a PhD or MS with substantial experience, and a passion for translating science into actionable

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, CS, or mathematics.
• Minimum 4 years post-PhD or 8 years post-MS in data science or data engineering.
• Experience leading technical teams to apply novel scientific approaches.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to project sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
• Curate and integrate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data.
• Build models to predict locations of ore-forming processes.
• Create visualizations to evaluate model performance.
• Apply data processing, statistical, physics-based techniques to geoscientific data.
• Present findings to external partners and stakeholders.
