Job summary

KoBold Metals is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to accelerate our exploration efforts. You will build predictive models, apply scientific computing methods, and work closely with geoscientists to find mineral deposits. This is a remote-first position with a salary range of $140,000 to $240,000 plus equity and benefits. Candidates must have an advanced degree and extensive experience in data science and software development. Join our team to help drive innovation in mineral exploration.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of work experience post PhD or 8 years post MS.
• Experience leading technical teams to apply scientific approaches.

Responsibilities

• Help develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
• Find and curate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data.
• Build models to statically valid predictions about locations of compositional anomalies.
• Create visualizations for evaluating model performance.
• Develop and apply data processing and statistical techniques.
