Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking a Data Scientist to build predictive models and apply scientific computing to locate ore-forming processes and predict ore-grade mineralization in 2D and 3D. You will help assemble a global dataset, quantify uncertainty, and develop software to accelerate the discovery of critical battery metals.

You will work with a top team of data scientists and geoscientists to create 2D/3D predictions, identify exploration targets, and design field programs that reduce prediction

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python data science packages and software engineering practices.
• Familiar with git, unit/integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud computing resources for data science workflows.
• Skilled in building predictive models and evaluating results.
• Knowledge of data from physical systems and geospatial analyses.

Responsibilities

• Develop KoBold’s proprietary software exploration tools.
• Find and curate geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data for the data system.
• Build models to predict locations of compositional anomalies in the Earth’s crust.
• Create visualizations to evaluate model performance and enable data interaction.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to guide exploration decisions.
• Present findings and collaborate with geoscientists to improve models.
