Job summary

KoBold Metals is a remote-first mineral exploration company leveraging AI and sensors. We seek a Senior data engineer to own data systems end to end, from data model to ETL, coordinating with a broad team and mentoring junior analysts.

You will build data models, ensure data quality, and lead governance efforts while collaborating with geologists and operations. Travel to Mingomba or exploration sites worldwide is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data operations owning production systems independently.
• Strong SQL and data modeling (PostgreSQL).
• Proven ETL and API integration.
• Experience with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and cloud tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build & integrate new data models, ETL/API integrations, and app support (Foundry).
• Platform maintenance & data quality, OPSDB stewardship and production support.
• Governance & technical debt management, RBAC and dbt semantics.
• Mingomba support and cross-functional mentorship with procurement and inventory teams.
