AllTrails is seeking a strategic data leader to guide the Data Science & Engineering teams. You will architect and scale data pipelines, ML systems, and data governance to empower product and operations across the business.

This is a remote, U.S.-based role with collaboration across product, engineering, and analytics. You’ll mentor engineers, partner with stakeholders, and drive innovation while maintaining a strong outdoors culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with 3+ years leading data teams.
• Coaches senior ICs and builds an inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Adaptable leader with a passion for outdoors and humility.
• Extensive experience with the modern data stack and cloud data infra.
• Experience guiding ML lifecycle and AI-powered product initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering, ML, and data science teams across projects.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Drive scalable batch/streaming pipelines and productionize ML models.
• Oversee data governance, reliability, and platform operations.
• Champion self-service data tooling and continuous velocity improvements.
