Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud platforms. The role emphasizes DLP, DSPM, and policy management with collaboration across teams.

You will work with PowerShell and Python to automate deployment, stay current on HIPAA, PCI, NIST, and related standards, and contribute to policy development and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
• 3 years of experience with architectural support for GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL.
• 5 years of Information Security, Governance, Risk and/or Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms.</br>
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analyses for remediation.
• Design and implement DSPM and DLP solutions aligned with requirements.
• Configure policies, sensitive information types, and detection tuning.
• Collaborate with teams across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Develop automation using PowerShell and Python to improve deployment.
