Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, Varonis, Windows, Linux, and GKE to deploy DLP and DSPM solutions while ensuring HIPAA and privacy compliance.

You will troubleshoot incidents, participate in projects, write scripts in PowerShell and Python, and collaborate with senior engineers to enhance policies, standards, and procedures

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years deploying and maintaining DLP infrastructure.
• 5 years creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years with at least two programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell).
• 3 years designing cloud architectures with GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL 3.
• Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, deploying DLP and DSPM.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain data protection policies and tuning parameters.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation and documentation.
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with team and expand expertise in data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and evolving compliance requirements.
