Job summary

Highmark Health in Minnesota seeks a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain the organization’s data protection infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments, including DLP and DSPM solutions. The role involves incident troubleshooting, policy tuning, and collaboration with senior engineers.

You will work with Microsoft Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, Varonis, Windows, Linux, and scripting in Python or PowerShell, with experience across GCP/AWS/Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5+ years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5+ years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5+ years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3+ years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell).
• 3+ years of experience with architectural support for two major cloud providers: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST 800-83, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, COBIT, ISO 27001/2, ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain components of the data protection infrastructure across platforms and vendors, including DLP and DSPM deployments.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions aligned with business requirements across on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies, including sensitive information types and detection parameters.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects through testing, implementation, and documentation, and participate in meetings for updates.
• Use PowerShell and Python to enhance deployment and maintenance of data protection software.
• Collaborate with team members to expand expertise in data protection technologies.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
