Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Data Engineer to support a modern Databricks + Snowflake + Azure Data Factory EDW ecosystem. You will monitor pipelines, troubleshoot incidents, and develop code that improves reliability and performance in a service-driven environment.

The role involves working on a cross-regional delivery model with IT/Business stakeholders, primarily remote with CST hours. Minimum experience in data engineering and strong SQL skills are required, with exposure to GenAI tools a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or production support for data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring pipelines and incident response.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, consulting-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory pipelines and Snowflake ELT/ETL processes, and Databricks ELT/ETL.
• Monitor data batch cycles and respond to failures, latency, or data-quality issues.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents within SLAs using SQL, Python, logs, and runbooks.
• Perform root cause analysis, document findings, and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Drive operational improvements: automation, alert tuning, performance optimization, and reliability enhancements.
