Job summary

Bridgeway Benefit Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer (BI) to design, develop, and maintain our data warehouse, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting layers. You will collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to turn data into secure, self-service analytics and insights across the organization.

The role is remote with occasional travel; preference for East Coast candidates. You will work with Sigma, Databricks, and other BI platforms to enable data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering and/or business intelligence experience.
• Experience in Databricks, including DAB and Materialized Views.
• 3+ years designing semantic/dimensional data models and dashboards in a modern BI platform.
• 3+ years of SQL (ANSI SQL/T-SQL/Spark SQL) and Python for data engineering, including pipelines.
• Experience with governance, data quality, and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain semantic data models, metrics, and datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Define KPI standards and a shared metric glossary for trusted dashboards.
• Develop and optimize dashboards/reports in Sigma (primary) and Power BI.
• Set Sigma workspace standards and governance for multi-tenant promotion.
• Collaborate on data quality, testing, and BI observability.
• Drive BI adoption through training and monitoring dashboard usage.
• Ensure data security with role-based access controls and encryption.
• Gather requirements and translate them into well-structured data products.
• Enable analytics and AI/ML use cases via structured data models and platform integrations.
• Collaborate within an Agile-Scrum framework and produce technical design docs.
• Build and maintain production dashboards/workbooks in Sigma.
