Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical seeks a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer/Designer to execute mechanical design for mission critical projects, including greenfield and brownfield data center facilities and fit-out packages for hyperscale clients. You will work with design leads across disciplines and mentor junior staff.

The role starts remote with plans to move to a hybrid setup as offices are established in Austin and Dallas–Fort Worth, involving some travel and collaboration with clients and internal

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a preferred mechanical focus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in facility HVAC design, particularly using Autodesk Revit for drawing development.
• Experience leading small mechanical design teams and having some client interface experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents.
• Perform airside and hydronic calculations for multiple mechanical systems.
• Understand and develop hydronic & air flow diagrams for various system types.
• Lead junior engineers, designers, and modelers, and coordinate the tasks of small project teams to execute delivery of specific design elements.
