AECOM is seeking a talented Design Manager, Data Centers to oversee colocation and hyper-scale data center projects across multiple sites in the US, with a flexible remote work arrangement and periodic travel. The role emphasizes leadership of design teams across electrical and mechanical disciplines, strong client communication, and end-to-end project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License is preferred
• Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred
• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional is preferred
• 6+ years of design and/or project management experience in data center environments
• 6 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management & engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations with minimal oversight
• Team leadership and strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead data center due diligence and design teams across multi-discipline scopes (architecture, electrical, mechanical, civil, FP, ICT, etc.)
• Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans
• Host and attend client meetings and coordinate with external stakeholders
• Proactively manage change and communicate updates to clients and internal teams
• Identify problems early and craft effective solutions
• Develop technical and financial proposals for new data center projects
• Build trusting relationships with client stakeholders and buyers
