Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced BI/Analytics Engineer to independently configure, test, monitor, and maintain BI platforms and systems. This remote-friendly role involves collaborating across time zones and occasional travel (1–2 times per year).

You will ensure performance, governance, and compliance while mentoring junior staff. Requirements include Epic Cogito certifications, 5–7 years in Epic BI tools, a CS-related degree, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience with Epic Cogito and/or BI tools, is required.
Epic Cogito experience and knowledge of related tools is expected.
Experience with Cogito Systems, project management, communications, and system utilization monitoring/auditing is needed.
Typically requires 5–7 years of experience in Epic applications and BI tools.
Familiarity with 3rd party BI tools and administration thereof.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and productivity tools.
Ability to manage and monitor projects, administer tasks, and communicate milestones.
Travel outside of the workplace is required in some roles.

Responsibilities

Independently configure, test, monitor, and maintain analytical and operational BI platforms, systems, and servers.
Monitor analytical and operational BI tools and systems to ensure optimal performance.
Ensure content created by developers adheres to policies, standards, and best practices; train analysts and end users on BI tools and upgrades.
Provide support for BI/reporting systems including maintenance, upgrades, security changes, testing, and license provisioning; participate in on-call.
Apply security changes to BI/reporting systems and manage access per policy.
Manage lifecycle of analytics content, auditing and retiring content as needed.
Independently manage project work and requests using appropriate tools.
Stay informed about healthcare IT, EHR, and BI trends to drive innovation; mentor junior team members.
