Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to design, develop, and run automated tests for healthcare applications. You will work with QA, Product Owners, analysts, developers, and client stakeholders in an Agile setting to deliver high-quality releases.

You will focus on Cypress automation, API testing, functional testing, and backend validation using Oracle or SQL Server, with Jira and qTest for tracking. This remote-friendly role is open to qualified US applicants.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in functional testing and test management.
• Three or more years of hands-on Cypress automation experience.
• Strong regression test automation experience and reusable Cypress components.
• Experience in API and service testing using Postman or SoapUI.
• Healthcare application testing experience with knowledge of healthcare processes.
• Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases for data validation.
• Proficient with Jira and qTest for test management and reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in Agile contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated Cypress test scripts.
• Build reusable automation components, test data, and test suites.
• Translate business requirements into test strategies and detailed test plans.
• Perform functional, regression, API, database, and UAT testing across sprints.
• Validate APIs and services with Postman/SoapUI and verify data in Oracle/SQL Server.
• Manage defects and prepare test-execution reports and release-ready summaries.
• Support UAT planning with Product Owners and stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
