Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated testing for healthcare applications. You will build reusable Cypress components, automate regression, and validate APIs and databases in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, and developers to translate requirements into test strategies and detailed test cases, while coordinating with stakeholders for UAT and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in functional testing and test planning.
• Three or more years hands-on with Cypress.
• Experience automating regression tests with Cypress and building reusable components, data, and suites.
• API and service testing using Postman or SoapUI.
• Healthcare application testing experience preferred.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or MS SQL Server.
• Using Jira and qTest for test management and reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated Cypress test scripts.
• Build reusable automation components, test data, test suites, and test cases.
• Translate business requirements into test strategies, test plans, test approaches, and detailed test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, API, database, release, and UAT testing across Agile cycles.
• Validate APIs and web services using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools; perform backend data checks.
• Manage defects and prepare test-execution reports, evidence, and release-quality summaries in Jira/qTest.
• Coordinate with Product Owners for critical business scenarios and UAT planning and execution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
