Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to design, develop, and run automated and functional tests for healthcare applications. You will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and client stakeholders to support high-quality releases in an Agile setting.

The role emphasizes Cypress automation, API testing, and backend validation with Oracle/SQL Server, while engaging in continuous improvement of test strategies and reusable components.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in functional testing including test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
• 3+ years building, maintaining, and executing automated Cypress test scripts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated Cypress tests focusing on regression coverage.
• Build reusable automation components, test data, and test suites to improve efficiency.
• Translate business requirements into test strategies, plans, and detailed test cases.
• Perform API, database, and UAT testing across Agile release cycles.
• Validate APIs and web services using Postman/SoapUI, and perform backend data validation with Oracle/SQL Server.
• Manage defects and prepare test-execution reports and release-quality summaries using Jira/qTest.
• Coordinate with Product Owners for critical business scenarios and UAT planning.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily Scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
