Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated tests for healthcare applications. You will work with Product Owners, BAs, developers, and client stakeholders in an Agile setup to ensure high-quality releases.

Responsibilities include building reusable Cypress components, executing regression tests, API validation, and backend data checks using Oracle or MS SQL Server.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in functional testing including test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
• Three or more years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using Cypress.
• Strong experience automating regression test cases and building reusable Cypress automation components, test data, and test suites.
• Strong experience in API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Two or more years of healthcare application testing experience with knowledge of healthcare processes.
• Experience using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server for backend data validation.
• Experience using Jira and qTest for project tracking, defect management, test-case management, and test reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress, focusing on regression tests.
• Build reusable automation components, test suites, test data to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, and developers to translate requirements into test strategies, plans, and cases.
• Perform functional, regression, API, database, release, and UAT testing across Agile cycles.
• Validate APIs and web services using Postman/SoapUI; perform backend data validation with Oracle or MS SQL Server.
• Manage defects and prepare test-execution reports and release-quality summaries in Jira and qTest.
• Coordinate with Product Owners to identify critical business scenarios for UAT planning.
