Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Cypress Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated testing for healthcare applications in an Agile environment. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.

You will lead Cypress automation, API and database validation, and defect management using Jira and qTest, while building reusable test components and contributing to UAT planning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in functional testing and test planning/execution.
• 3+ years hands-on with Cypress for automated testing.
• Strong experience automating regression tests and building reusable Cypress components, test data, and test suites.
• Strong API and service testing experience using Postman or SoapUI.
• Two or more years of healthcare application testing experience with knowledge of healthcare processes.
• Experience validating databases using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience using Jira and qTest for tracking, defect management, test-case management, and reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute Cypress automated tests and regression suites.
• Build reusable automation components, test data, and test cases to improve coverage.
• Translate business requirements into test strategies, plans, and detailed test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, API, database, release, and UAT testing across Agile cycles.
• Validate APIs using Postman/SoapUI and backend data with Oracle/SQL Server.
• Manage defects and prepare test execution reports and release-quality summaries.
• Coordinate with Product Owners to plan and execute UAT.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
