Job summary
Leidos is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Monitoring Engineer to support the DMDC CyberPRIMES program and provide enterprise cybersecurity monitoring across DHRA systems and networks. Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity monitoring, security engineering, or enterprise security tools.
- Experience evaluating configuration, connectivity, availability, and coverage of cybersecurity tools.
- Experience identifying technical issues and coordinating resolution across multiple organizations.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements and NIST guidance or equivalent standards.
- Ability to develop procedures, monitoring documentation, metrics, and status reporting.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to government and IT stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor DHRA cybersecurity posture using government tools and capabilities.
- Support Tier 3 and shared Tier 2 monitoring and troubleshooting with CSSPs.
- Validate tool configuration, deployment, operability, connectivity, data rollups, and updates.
- Assess whether required capabilities are deployed across DHRA systems and networks.
- Compare tool coverage against asset inventories to identify gaps.
- Identify and report tool failures and data-quality issues.
- Open and track technical tickets through resolution with owners and providers.
- Develop corrective action plans for identified deficiencies.
- Validate corrective actions and closure of deficiencies.
- Develop monitoring metrics for leadership visibility.
- Analyze results to identify trends and opportunities to improve cybersecurity.
- Recommend tool enhancements or process changes based on findings.
- Document baseline changes and update TTPs.
- Support security scanning, mitigation, and compliance checks.
- Review work products for accuracy and compliance.
