Job summary

Sompo International is seeking a Crop Insurance Adjuster to support MPCI, Private Products and Named Peril claims from a remote Texas location, ideally San Antonio and nearby areas. Responsibilities include field inspections, map reading, and maintaining relationships with policyholders and colleagues.

The role requires experience with crop insurance claims, strong customer service, and the ability to travel within a two-hour radius, with potential for extended travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience handling crop insurance claims, preferred.
• 2 years' experience as a crop insurance adjuster, preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work both in an office setting and outdoors in a farm environment.
• Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
• Working knowledge of crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.
• Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields, up to 3 miles.
• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins, up to 75 feet.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekend, holidays and/or as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.
• Complete field inspections, read maps and aerial imagery, measure fields, and measure storage bins.
• Utilize company software proficiently including daily monitoring of all company communications.
• Follow FCIC, State, and Company rules and regulations, policies, and procedures for MPCI and Private Products.
• Complete initial and ongoing training and certifications as required by FCIC and State Regulations.
• Train field claims staff on claim procedures, best practices, and compliance standards.
