Job summary

Sompo is seeking a Crop Insurance Adjuster to join the Upper Midwest team, supporting MPCI, Private Products, and Named Peril claims operations. The role is remote near Adrian, MN with travel up to 50% and collaboration with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, and agents.

The position requires 2 years of crop insurance claims experience, CAPP certification, and a valid driver’s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a Bachelor's in agriculture preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience handling crop insurance claims.
• CAPP certification required and valid driver’s license with clean driving record and applicable State license.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree in agriculture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.
• Record and transmit loss information to determine damages per FCIC, NCIS and Company procedures.
• Complete field inspections, read maps and aerial imagery, measure fields and storage bins.
• Utilize company software and monitor communications.
• Follow FCIS, State, and Company rules for MPCI and Private Products.
• Complete training and certifications as required by FCIC and State Regulations.
• Explain adjusting procedures and findings to policyholders and agents.
• Conduct fact-finding and investigate crop damage, transmit information to determine indemnities.
• Willingness to learn new crops.
