Job summary

Sompo International is seeking a Crop Insurance Adjuster to support MPCI, Private Products, and Named Peril claims. The position is remote in Texas, preferably near San Antonio, with up to 50% travel within a two-hour radius of the home office.

The role requires 2 years of crop insurance claims experience, a CAPP certification, and a valid driver’s license. You’ll work with supervisors, policyholders, and other adjusters to evaluate damages and indemnities.

Qualifications

• For the role, candidates should have experience handling crop insurance claims.
• Experience as a crop insurance adjuster is preferred.
• Must hold a CAPP certification and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.
• Record and transmit loss information to determine potential damages per procedures (FCIC, NCIS).
• Complete field inspections, read maps and aerial imagery, and measure fields/storage bins.
• Utilize company software and monitor daily communications.
• Follow FCIC, state, and company rules for MPCI and Private Products.
• Complete required training and certifications per FCIC and state regulations.
• Explain adjusting procedures and findings to policyholders and agents.
• Perform fact-finding and investigate crop damage to determine indemnities.
• Train field claims staff on procedures, best practices, and compliance.
• Willingness to learn new crops and adapt to needs.
