Job summary

The successful candidate will own US BD strategy, build executive relationships, and lead high-caliber teams through complex sales cycles while collaborating with operations and science groups.

Qualifications

• Previous business development experience within a CRO is essential.
• Proven track record of securing significant clinical research contracts and achieving sales targets.
• Experience at VP/Executive Director/Senior Director level.
• Strong relationships across the US pharmaceutical and biotechnology market.
• Experience leading commercial teams and managing complex sales cycles.
• US-based, willing to travel for client meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the US business development strategy to deliver revenue and sales targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities for clinical research services.
• Build relationships with senior decision-makers across pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing business development team.
• Oversee pipeline development, forecasting, account planning, and commercial performance.
• Partner with operational and scientific teams on proposals, bid defences, and contract negotiations.
• Represent the organisation at industry conferences and client meetings.
