LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a Cree Interpreter to work from home in the United States. You will interpret phone conversations between Cree and English speakers, across healthcare, government, finance, and more. This is an independent contractor role with a quiet home office requirement.

You will be trained with industry-leading resources and supported by a Senior Language Specialist and help desks. The position emphasizes cultural sensitivity and professional conduct on all calls.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cree and English with cultural context.
• Cultural competency to adapt to regional/accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate meanings following interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation.
• Maintain professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergencies like 911.
