Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions seeks an experienced Inuktitut-English phone interpreter to work from a home office in the United States. This independent contractor role involves interpreting calls across healthcare, government, and other sectors with strict professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

The position requires fluency in Inuktitut and English, excellent listening and note-taking abilities, and the ability to handle emotionally charged conversations.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Inuktitut and English with strong cultural awareness.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences for LEP communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills for accurate interpretation.
• Must be able to remain neutral and professional on diverse, sensitive calls.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render accurate meanings according to established interpretation protocols.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and expressions.
• Maintain professionalism and composure during sessions, including emergency calls.
• Follow client instructions to ensure LEP meets expectations and privacy rules.
• Understand terminology across Medical, Insurance, Finance, and Law sectors.
