Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a Cree Telephone Interpreter to work from home in the United States. You will handle on-demand calls, translating verbally between Cree and English while upholding accuracy and cultural sensitivity. This is an independent contractor role with no employee benefits.

You must be at least 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, and willing to work from a quiet home office with reliable tech and internet.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cree and English and cultural dynamics.
• Ability to assess regional and accent differences for LEP communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking to ensure accuracy.
• Must be able to stay neutral on sensitive topics and manage calls professionally.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render concepts according to interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation.
• Maintain professional demeanor during sessions, including emergencies.
• Remain on calls as needed, manage high-volume or emotional sessions.
