Siouxland Community Health Center is hiring for a Coder in our Billing Department. This is a full-time, remote position that may be worked from home. The coder will assign evaluation and management levels, code diagnoses and procedures, and ensure documentation compliance with CPT and ICD-10-CM guidelines.

The role requires CPC certification, at least two years of CPT coding experience, and strong data entry and math skills, with a willingness to pursue ongoing education to maintain credentials.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be CPC certified.
• Minimum of two years of coding experience using CPT with the most recent coding requirements.
• Willingness to participate in continued education courses to obtain or maintain certification
• Advanced computer and data entry skills
• Math acuity

Aufgaben

• Assign appropriate evaluation/management levels for professional services.
• Review patient medical records to assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, surgical procedures, and nonsurgical procedures for services.
• Maintain working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding principles, governmental regulations, protocols, and third-party requirements for billing and documentation.
• Ensure final diagnoses and procedures as stated by the provider are valid and complete.
• Ensure services documented in patient chart are coded with correct diagnoses and procedure codes; obtain proper documentation when needed.
• Conduct audits of records to ensure compliance with coding and documentation guidelines and governmental requirements.
