Job summary

100x Recruiting presents a hands-on CPA Controller role for a nine-figure live entertainment startup. Immediate need to lead event-level financial oversight, budgeting, and in-house accounting across live productions with on-site travel.

You will build forecasting, profitability analyses, and collaborate with leadership to scale the finance function while accommodating the fast-paced startup culture and occasional late nights during live events.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience in live events, concerts, or sports production.
• Strong cost forecasting and budgeting in production-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost forecasting and budgeting for live events (venue rental, staging, lighting, production).
• Perform project-based accounting and financial modeling to determine event profitability.
• Reconcile event budgets on-site to prevent cost overruns.
• Transition Accounts Payable from outsourced to in-house operations.
• Oversee internal Accounts Receivable processes.
• Partner with leadership on strategic financial planning and growth initiatives.
• Support the build-out of internal accounting infrastructure.
• Travel to live events approximately 5–10 times annually.
