Job description

Taltran Global has been exclusively retained by a private equity-backed event services company seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. The organization provides a broad range of event-related services and support solutions to clients across multiple end markets and has established a strong reputation within its industry. Following a period of sustained growth, including strategic expansion initiatives, the company is focused on strengthening operational infrastructure, enhancing financial processes, and building a scalable platform to support future growth.

The CFO will report directly to executive leadership and serve as a key member of the management team, overseeing the company’s accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, operational accounting, audit management, treasury activities, and financial planning initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to help professionalize the finance organization, implement scalable processes and controls, improve visibility into business performance, and support growth initiatives while serving as a hands‑on financial leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution and effectively partner with executive leadership, private equity stakeholders, and operational teams to build a best‑in‑class finance organization within a dynamic and growing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP‑compliant financial reporting
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, and multi‑entity accounting activities
  • Manage consolidated financial reporting across multiple operating entities and locations
  • Lead annual audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes to support continued growth and operational complexity
  • Oversee accounting for a significant fixed asset base, including production equipment, rental assets, and other capital‑intensive operational infrastructure
  • Strengthen operational accounting processes related to project costing, project billing, revenue recognition, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting methodologies
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to improve visibility into profitability, job performance, asset utilization, and overall business performance
  • Help build and enhance budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and FP&A capabilities across the organization
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and systems optimization to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Support acquisition integration efforts, including financial diligence support, accounting integration, and process standardization across acquired businesses
  • Develop, mentor, and elevate the accounting team while helping create a more structured, accountable, and high‑performing finance organization
  • Prepare financial analyses, board reporting materials, and executive‑level presentations to support strategic decision‑making
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • CPA designation is preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within live events, production services, equipment rental, facilities services, hospitality, construction, or other project‑based and asset‑intensive industries
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month‑end close, and audit processes
  • Experience operating within private equity‑backed organizations is strongly preferred
  • Background managing accounting operations within multi‑entity environments, including consolidations and intercompany accounting
  • Experience overseeing fixed asset accounting within capital‑intensive businesses that maintain significant equipment, rental, or operational asset bases
  • Understanding of project accounting, job costing, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, or other operational accounting methodologies is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, implement controls, and build scalable accounting infrastructure within growing organizations
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and FP&A processes
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring accounting personnel and helping elevate team capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership, Board members, operational personnel, and cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate strategically while remaining highly hands‑on in day‑to‑day accounting operations
