Job summary

The Good CFO, Inc. is looking for a highly skilled Controller to support accounting and finance operations for marketing agency clients in a 100% remote role.

You will oversee general accounting, accounts payable, billing, and financial reporting across multiple client engagements. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams on month-end close, revenue recognition, budgeting, and forecasts, while maintaining tight internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent credentials.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably for US client firms.
• Experience with a marketing agency or professional services firm with time and expense billing.
• Knowledge of GAAP and the matching principle.
• Experience interacting with vendors and clients.
• Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a client-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance operations including AP, billing, and reporting.
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
• Maintain cash flow reporting and assist with budgets and forecasts.
• Manage fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are followed.
• Prepare documents for audits.
