Job summary

Magna Legal Services seeks a Maggie Court Reporter to keep the official written record of proceedings, working remotely with up to 25% travel in the Philadelphia area. The role offers a salaried, benefits-eligible position with opportunities for advancement through tier levels and bonuses.

You will use Maggie’s proprietary software to capture real-time transcription, administer oaths, and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s is preferred.
• Notary Public certificate is required; assistance in obtaining is provided.
• Court Reporting Certification is encouraged; assistance in obtaining it is provided.
• Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
• Flexible to a hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and in-person work.

Responsibilities

• Keeper of the record for depositions and hearings.
• Administer the oath to a witness prior to proceedings.
• Monitor and edit realtime transcription via Maggie™ software to ensure an accurate, verbatim written record.
• Protect the official record by intervening if participants are engaging in crosstalk.
• Gather and preserve information needed to produce a final written record, including case information, participants, and exhibits.
• Manage transcript delivery timelines and client communication to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure quality standards are met.
• Finalize and certify that the final transcript is a true and accurate record of the proceeding.
