Job summary

Genesys is seeking a Commercial Corporate Counsel to support the North America sales organization, negotiating cloud/SaaS transactions and related agreements while guiding privacy, security, and AI considerations. You will shape contracting templates, playbooks, and governance to enable scalable, compliant deals across enterprise customers.

The role partners with Sales, Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, Finance, and other teams to drive risk-balanced agreements and practical business

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active U.S. bar membership in good standing and authorization to work in the United States.
• 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house.

Responsibilities

• Own the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements, including cloud services and SaaS agreements, amendments, NDAs, RFP responses, statements of work, licensing agreements, BAAs, and DPAs.
• Drive commercial transactions toward timely resolution balancing business objectives, customer requirements, legal considerations, and risk management.
• Advise Sales and stakeholders on data privacy, data security, AI, and other legal considerations affecting technology transactions.
• Develop and maintain scalable contract templates for recurring transactions and evolving models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align contracting strategy and processes.
• Improve contracting efficiency by contributing to standards, templates, negotiation playbooks, and best practices.
• Monitor regulatory developments in cloud software, data privacy, security, and AI and translate into practical guidance.
