Job summary

Sledge is hiring a Copywriter to own how Sledge sounds across everything with text. This role reports to the marketing team. The copy should be plain-spoken, confident, direct, and written by you—no AI-generated copy. You will join early and help shape the brand voice for a contractor audience.

Fully remote role with a fast-moving launch timeline, working closely with the marketing and founding team to maintain consistency and clarity across all materials.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong portfolio of writing you authored yourself.
• Sharp editing eye with concise, one-idea sentences.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit blog posts, social media captions, and other creative content.
• Own and evolve Sledge's brand voice, positioning, and content guidelines.
• Write copy across the website, product, marketing, sales, and company materials.
• Write PR materials, press releases, and news articles.
• Write outreach, comms, and newsletters.
• Maintain voice consistency with sentence case, no em dashes, no jargon.
• Translate technical product details into plain, contractor-friendly language.
• Collaborate with the marketing and founding team on fast-moving launch timelines.
