Job summary

Blue Forest is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead operations, HR, IT, and governance for a fully remote nonprofit focused on conservation finance. You will report to the CEO and work with the executive team to scale impact across multi-state operations.

You will drive staff development, systems improvements, and financial controls, while partnering with the CFO and CEO to advance mission-driven initiatives and organizational resilience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of executive operations or nonprofit leadership experience.
• Proven ability to manage distributed teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HR, IT, and other components of operations, governance and legal operations.
• Lead enterprise systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity coordination, and knowledge management practices.
• Set strategic direction with the Executive Leadership Team and drive organizational performance.
• Collaborate with CFO to align financial controls, risk management, and fundraising support.
