Job summary

Landesa is seeking a Chief Financial and Operations Officer to steward the organization’s finances, risk, and global operations. The role partners with the CEO and reports to the executive team, ensuring strong internal controls while supporting growth in diverse regulatory environments.

The CFOO will oversee multi-year planning, annual budgets, audits, IT systems, and grants compliance across HQ and country offices, aligning resources with Landesa’s mission to advance land rights worldwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of senior finance/ops leadership experience.
• Experience managing finance/ops for international NGO with multi-country ops.
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting and GAAP; donor compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting for HQ and field offices.
• Lead annual budgeting and re-forecasts with program and country teams.
• Oversee treasury, banking relations, and investment of reserves including FX risk management.
• Lead IT, risk management, and administrative functions across offices.
• Oversee grants, subgrants, donor reporting, and subcontractor management.
• Partner with CEO and Board committees; mentor finance and ops staff.
