Job summary

Clever Benefits, a healthcare tech leader, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations for the portfolio. You will own month-end close, financial reporting, and intercompany processes while shaping policies and controls across entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounting operations within a multi-entity organization.
• Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff.
• Audit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across the portfolio.
• Own intercompany accounting, allocations, shared services charges, and related-party transactions across the portfolio.
• Personally own day-to-day accounting operations for Clever Benefits, including accounts payable/receivable and month-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements and schedules; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, controls, and review procedures.
• Support tax filings, 409A valuations, and diligence efforts.
• Directly manage the Accounting & Operations Manager and oversee portfolio-wide accounting execution.
