Job summary

The Good CFO, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Controller to support marketing agency clients with accounting and finance operations. This remote role covers bank deposits, month-end close, A/P, Billing, and financial reporting.

You will manage policies, vendor onboarding, invoicing, and project profitability analysis, while partnering with clients and our CFO team in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent credentials.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a U.S. based firm handling client work.
• Experience with marketing agencies or professional services billing.
• Know what GAAP and the matching principle are.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Document, maintain and improve company policies, procedures, and values.
• Support month-end close including reconciliations and revenue recognition.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and 1096/1099 filings.
• Oversee invoicing, collections, AR, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare weekly/monthly WIP, client, and project profitability reports.
