Job summary

Vessel Advisors seeks a seasoned Controller to support multiple clients remotely. You will lead month-end closes, improve processes, and guide budgeting and forecasting for real estate development projects and ongoing construction accounts.

You will oversee internal and client staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial insights. Strong communication and ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Controller, Director of Accounting, or CAO in construction/real estate.
• Experience with multi-entity real estate development and WIP/AIA billing.
• Strong governance, internal controls, and audit readiness mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support VP of Operations and client CFOs with reporting and close processes.
• Own month-end close schedules and client advisory deliverables.
• Communicate with CEOs, developers and contractors to build trust.
• Lead Financial Discovery Assessments for new engagements; travel ~1x/month.
