Job summary

ALC Advisory is seeking a Controller for a fully remote role serving multiple clients across the U.S. The position offers a $120,000–$130,000 base and no busy season, with emphasis on leadership of a remote team, GAAP compliance, and strategic financial advisory.

You will manage client financial reporting, implement cloud-based platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite), and mentor staff while driving growth and efficiency for diverse privately-held businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA highly preferred but not required.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience.
• Public accounting background preferred.
• Experience in small privately-held, entrepreneurial companies as Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage a remote team.
• High integrity and ethics, commitment to client service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accuracy and integrity of clients' financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
• Own the entire accounting function including corporate finance, GAAP adherence, and tax compliance.
• Lead strategic financial planning by translating data into client-focused insights.
• Create budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial reports aligned with business goals.
• Manage complex financial projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Interpret new accounting standards and advise across the firm.
• Mentor Shared Services Specialists and staff accountants.
• Identify and implement new service opportunities for existing clients.
• Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and risk management.
