Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Control Room Operator in Dayton, OH to remotely monitor and control a diverse renewable asset portfolio. You will work under limited supervision, operate wind, solar, and BESS assets, and coordinate with O&M teams to ensure reliability and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in control center operations, strong SCADA skills, and familiarity with NERC standards. The role requires rotating 12-hour shifts and a focus on safety and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in control center operations.
• Familiarity with NERC standards and their impact on operations.
• Competency in plant processes, electrical and SCADA systems.
• Ability to follow operating procedures without exception.
• Experience with data acquisition and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a diverse utility-scale asset portfolio (wind, solar, and BESS).
• Monitor SCADA for faults, alarms, and performance; dispatch as needed.
• Adjust operating parameters per guidance from Balancing Authority and TOP.
• Prepare operational reports to grid entities such as Reliability Coordinator and TOP.
• Coordinate outage support with field O&M and TOP teams.
• Develop and manage outage schedules and forecasting activities.
• Maintain logs and SOPs in compliance with industry standards.
