Job summary

The AES Corporation, Salt Lake City ROCC, seeks a Control Room Operator to remotely monitor and control a diverse renewable asset portfolio including Wind, Solar, and BESS. You will work under supervision of a Team Lead to ensure safe, reliable operations and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in control center operations, preferably with utility-scale renewables.
• 3-5 years in Power Generation/Operations roles (I&C, field ops, maintenance).
• Familiarity with electrical substation safety protocols and operations.
• Familiarity with NERC standards and impact on operations.
• Competency with plant processes, electrical and SCADA systems.
• Ability to follow operating procedures strictly and accurately.
• Strong communication to manage critical situations.
• Willingness to undergo regular training for safe, reliable operations.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working unsupervised within a small team.
• Experience with documentation control systems: SharePoint, Docushare, SAP, etc.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a growing utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS asset portfolio.
• Monitor portfolio via SCADA for faults, alarms, and underperformance; dispatch as needed.
• Adjust operating parameters (Real Power, Voltage, Power Factor) as directed.
• Generate and submit operational reports to grid entities and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with O&M personnel for troubleshooting and outages.
• Develop outage schedules and forecasting activities.
• Interact with cross-functional teams within AES and external orgs.
• Create and track corrective maintenance tickets using SAP.
