Job summary

Post University seeks a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to advise institutional stakeholders and support contracts, privacy, data security, and regulatory matters across online and on-campus programs. This remote role emphasizes collaboration, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documents to align with university policy and law.

The position requires experience in higher education law and strong advocacy and drafting skills, with responsibility for international compliance and regulatory

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school.
• Attaining approved house counsel status in Connecticut is required.
• Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in contract review and key contractual provisions.
• Ability and desire to develop working knowledge of laws, regulations and policies related to higher education.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Superior drafting and negotiating skills.
• Strong research, writing, editing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates a variety of agreements including vendor and technology agreements.
• Reviews outgoing group student communications to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance.
• Assists with international compliance for our growing international student population.
• Supports the legal and compliance groups with other matters as requested involving areas of law such as privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI, and marketing to ensure University compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Performs legal research, drafts and develops resource material, and performs educational outreach within the institution on legal and regulatory issues.
