Job summary

Post University seeks a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as a trusted legal advisor to institutional stakeholders, supervised by University Counsel. The role emphasizes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and policies supporting online and in-person programs while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and university policies.

The attorney will advise on contracts, privacy and data security, intellectual property, and various regulatory matters, including Title IX and ADA,

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from a US law school.
Attaining approved house counsel status in Connecticut is required.
Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
Interest in contract review and key contractual provisions (copyright, privacy, IT security).
Ability to develop knowledge of higher education laws, regulations and policies.
Outstanding customer service skills and effective communication across formats.

Responsibilities

Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates various agreements including vendor, technology, data privacy, international matters, and IP.
Reviews outgoing student communications to ensure regulatory compliance.
Provides legal advice on ethical operations and compliance.
Assists with international compliance for international students.
Supports with privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI, and marketing compliance.
Performs legal research and develops educational resources for the institution.
