Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs Inc. (SEE) seeks a high-caliber professional to own the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts and provide high-level interpretation of labor regulations related to independent contractors.

The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, managing multiple external partnerships, and ensuring IRS guidelines for charitable entities are followed. Remote work with core Pacific Time office hours and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience in high-volume compliance or legal operations
• Experience drafting and negotiating high-volume legal documents, including amendments, MOUs, and NDAs
• Proven expertise in contractual laws for worker classification and IRS/DOL standards
• Direct experience managing employment agency audits or similar regulatory reviews
• Ability to dissect complex regulatory frameworks and provide clear guidance to leadership

Responsibilities

• Streamline and optimize the contract lifecycle process to reduce turnaround time and bottlenecks
• Lead drafting, detailed review, and execution of contracts and amendments
• Collaborate with external counsel on complex contracts
• Oversee at least one employee and provide coaching
• Communicate with project directors to align terms with expectations
• Apply labor code knowledge to ensure proper worker classification
• Ensure adherence to IRS guidelines for charitable entities
• Develop contracts with international parties in compliance with government requirements
• Align contract values with project balances and market rates
• Assist in audits and regulatory inquiries related to worker status
• Provide strategic input to improve efficiency and collaboration
