Job summary

Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE) is seeking an Administrative Legal Contracts Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts, interpret labor regulations for independent contractors, and design compliance frameworks for a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

This exempt, remote role requires coordination with external counsel, oversight of at least one employee, and collaboration with the Senior HR Manager to ensure compliant, fair contracts across multi-state projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Law degree, MBA, MPA or similar is highly preferred
• Significant experience in a high-volume compliance or legal operations role
• Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with clients, stakeholders and external parties
• Experience in drafting and negotiating high-volume legal documents, including specialized amendments, MOUs, and NDAs
• Proven expertise in contractual laws for worker classification and a thorough working knowledge of IRS guidelines and Department of Labor standards

Responsibilities

• Streamline and optimize the contract lifecycle process to reduce turnaround time and bottlenecks
• Lead the drafting, detailed review, and execution of contracts and amendments
• Partner with external counsel to support drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts
• Oversee at least one employee, setting goals, conducting performance check-ins, and coaching
• Communicate with fiscally sponsored project directors to ensure terms are fair and clear
• Proactively apply knowledge of federal/state labor codes for contractors and verify classifications
