Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a qualified Adjuster to handle property and casualty losses remotely as a full-time role. You will examine policies, interview claimants, inspect damage, estimate costs, and negotiate settlements with the goal of accurate reserves and fair outcomes.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree, ability to obtain IIA-AIC designation, and an adjuster license. Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred. Obtain IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months.
• Appropriate state adjuster license is required.

Responsibilities

• Examines insurance policies and other records to determine coverage.
• Interviews, telephones, and/or corresponds with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
• Inspects property damage to determine extent of liability and methods of investigation.
• Estimates cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
• Prepares report of findings and negotiates settlements with claimants.
• Recommends litigation by legal department when settlements cannot be negotiated.
• Attends litigation hearings.
• Revises case reserves in assigned files to cover probable costs.
• Assists in preparing loss experience reports to help determine profitability and future rates.
