Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Lending Specialist to manage and process loan applications in a contact center environment, delivering superior member service and underwriting support during regular and extended hours.

The CLS reviews creditworthiness, explains decisions, counsels members on products, and maintains accurate loan documentation while adhering to policies and regulatory requirements. Remote/hybrid work is possible.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years’ directly related lending experience.
• Must communicate with SECU personnel, VPs, SVPs, members.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Must adhere to credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
• Must demonstrate integrity and objectivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completion of non-real estate loan applications and serve as the primary contact for applicants.
• Underwrite loan applications including creditworthiness and repayment ability.
• Explain approval or denial decisions to members clearly.
• Counsel borrowers on available lending products and document loan applications.
• Maintain comprehensive loan documentation and audit trail.
