Marine Credit Union is seeking a Remote Consumer Loan Officer to connect with members, identify lending opportunities, and guide borrowers through the loan process from application to closing. The successful candidate will outreach to members, assess financial information, and collaborate with decision-makers to approve loan applications within guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with members and applicants.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Experience in sales or outreach to generate loan opportunities.
• Knowledge of consumer lending or financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to identify lending opportunities and generate loan applications.
• Interview applicants and guide them through the loan application process by phone and digital channels.
• Analyze financial information and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate creditworthiness, repayment capacity, collateral, and overall financial position.
• Calculate debt-to-income ratios, payment structures, and collateral requirements.
• Recommend loan approvals, denials, counteroffers, loan modifications, and debt restructuring solutions.
• Educate members on consumer loan products and recommend solutions that fit their needs.
• Partner with decision-makers to approve or deny loan applications within guidelines.
• Communicate loan decisions and provide timely updates throughout the process.
• Manage loan closings and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
• Counsel members on budgeting, credit management, debt solutions, and financial planning.
