Job summary

Pete Fowler Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to assist our Testifying Experts in delivering fast, cost-effective building solutions.

You will analyze complex construction issues, prepare technical reports, and support client meetings with clear, actionable recommendations. The role emphasizes site inspections, document analysis, and cost estimation, with fully remote work and a preference for candidates near Phoenix.

Qualifications

• 10 years of construction experience or a combination of education and field experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Excellent organization, planning, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and communicate solutions by way of actionable information and recommendations.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements needed to conduct onsite inspections.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Email, and Internet Research Tools.
• Knowledge of Building Sciences is preferred.
• Architectural or engineering registration, contractor license(s), and/or inspection certification(s) is preferred.
• Strong project management skills and experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Building Inspection and Property Condition Assessment: Attend site investigations to inspect structures and conditions; document with photographs, notes, diagrams and checklists; prepare inspection summaries.
• Document Analysis: Review and summarize construction documents and legal documents.
• Conduct research on building codes and standards; organize analyses.
• Cost Estimating / Cost Analysis: Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and cost comparisons; prepare RFPs.
• Preparation of Technical Reports: Present observations, analyses, and cost estimates; structure reports clearly; collaborate with project coordinators.
• Client Meetings: Attend meetings to gather project information or present work; document actions.
• Billing: Track time billed to clients and maintain billable hour targets.
• Professional Development: Set and pursue quarterly development goals.
