Job summary

Pete Fowler Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Technical Consultant to support Technical Experts by analyzing building problems, preparing cost estimates, and delivering technical reports. You’ll inspect sites, review construction and legal documents, and present findings to clients and experts.

The role emphasizes integrity, clear communication, and growth into a Technical Expert role. Strong project management and on-site inspection ability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 10 years of construction experience or a combination of education and field experience.
• Experience acting as a self-directed, independent leader.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Excellent organization, planning, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and communicate solutions with actionable recommendations.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements needed to conduct onsite inspections.
• Intermediate-advanced computer skills including MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Email, and Internet Research Tools.
• Knowledge of Building Sciences is preferred.
• Architectural or engineering registration, contractor licenses, and/or inspection certifications are preferred.
• Strong project management skills and experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Building Inspection and Property Condition Assessment.
• Attend site investigations to inspect structures and conditions.
• Document with photographs, notes, diagrams and checklists.
• Prepare inspection summary narratives.
• Document Analysis of construction documents, legal documents, and reports.
• Conduct research and gather data on codes and best practices.
• Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Prepare cost analyses and cost comparisons.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to experts.
• Collaborate with coordinators to deliver PFCS-compliant reports.
• Attend client meetings and mediations to gather information and present work.
• Track time billed to clients and maintain billable hour targets.
• Assist management with quarterly professional development goals.
